State police on Friday charged Andrew A. Ashley, 41, of 310 Morris St., with misdemeanor third-degree assault.

Troopers said the arrest stems from a report of a domestic dispute that occurred at the Gran-View Restaurant, 6765 Route 37, in the town of Oswegatchie, between Mr. Ashley and his brother at 10:13 p.m.

During the altercation, it is alleged that Mr. Ashley bit his brother’s ear, causing it to bleed.

The alleged victim was taken to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center for treatment and has since been released.

Mr. Ashley was issued a ticket for Oswegatchie Town Court.
