St. Lawrence Thunder bantams ride another shutout into 14U national quarterfinals

HACKENSACK, N.J. - The St. Lawrence Thunder bantams pitched their second consecutive shutout with a 3-0 victory over the Erie Lions to finish pool play with an undefeated mark.

Joshua Sanchez scored two goals and added an assist and Corson Green added a goal and an assist to account for the Thunder offense. Grant Vam Buren was credited with 35 saves in his shutout performance, and Erie’s Jarrett Fiske stopped 47 Thunder shots.

The Thunder must now await this afternoon’s play to determine their opponent in a quarterfinal matchup that will start at 10 a.m. Saturday. They will face the second seed out of a pool field that includes the Foothill Flyers, Dallas Pneguins, Chicago Bruins and Hollydell Hurricanes. All four teams enter today’s play with records of 1-1.
