Funeral services for Edward M. Hutchison, age 79 of 1010 Mansion Avenue Ogdensburg, will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday (April 16, 2014) at Foxwood Memorial Park with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. There will be no calling hours. Mr. Hutchison passed away at his home on Friday (April 11, 2014) surrounded by his family.

Surviving are three sons Timothy Hutchison of Ogdensburg, Christopher Hutchison & his wife Emily of Massena, Daniel Hutchison of Hobbs, NM; step-children Joseph Johnson & his wife Carol of Ogdensburg and Debbie Burke & her husband Timothy of Ogdensburg; a sister Eleanor Andrews & her husband William of ME; grandchildren Brian Hutchison, David Hutchison, Marc Burke, Mike Burke, Joe Burke; step-grandchildren William Sonny Harper, Ramona Kennedy; step- great-grandchildren Nathan Kennedy & William Cody Harper.

His son Brian Hutchison; a sister Connie Spooner; five brothers William, Frank, Jack, Joe & Dick Hutchison and a step-grandson Yancey (Boomer) Harper predeceased him.

Ed was born on August 9, 1934 in Ogdensburg NY a son of the late Mahlon W. & Margaret G. (Kiah) Hutchison. He attended Holy Cross School for his education and served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1957. A previous marriage ended, and he then married Joan E. LaFlair on June 5, 1976 at the First Congregational Church in Lisbon with Rev. Walter Smith officiating the couple’s marriage.

During his career he worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway, Diamond National, Davenport Machine & Tool Co., and General Motors where he retired from in 1990 after 22 years of service. Following his retirement, he worked part-time at Ogdensburg Auto Parts for a period.

Ed enjoyed car and truck racing, Buffalo Bills Football, watching NASCAR and playing computer games. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley, US Hwy 11, Potsdam, NY 13676.
