Potsdam Humane Society adding photo contest to Strutt Your Mutt Festival

POTSDAM - The Potsdam Humane Society is having a Pet Photo Contest, as a new feature of the “Strut Your Mutt” festival on May 3. Folks of any age can submit their favorite pictures of pets. Entry deadline is April 26.

All photos will be on display at the Pine Street Arena during the Strut Your Mutt” events. Voting will take place throughout the day. Winners will be selected in categories such as Best Costume, Cutest, Ugliest, Best Action photo, and a grand prize for the Best in Show.

Winners will be announced at 2 p.m. Winner need not be present.

Photos can be up to 4” by 6”inches and must be an animal that you know personally – cat, dog, bird, hamster, ferret, rabbit, iguana, horse, goat or any other type of pet.

Participants may submit more than one entry. Please include the name of the pet on the back of the photo. Professional photos of animals are not allowed, and no downloaded photos from any source will be accepted. The photos should not be altered or enhanced except for cropping.

Entry forms can be picked up at the Potsdam Humane Society, at the Best Friends Thrift Shop on Raymond Street in Potsdam or downloaded from the website: potsdamhumanesociety.org

Please include an entry fee of $5 for each photo submitted. Checks are made payable to the Potsdam Humane Society, “Photo Contest” on the memo line. Entries may be dropped off at or mailed to: Potsdam Humane Society, 17 Madrid Avenue, Potsdam NY 13676.
