Pair of Clarkson Freshman Honored
POTSDAM - A pair of Clarkson University freshman earned Liberty League honors for their efforts last week.
BRIDGES SOFTBALL EFFORTS CITED
After helping the Clarkson softball team fashion a three game winning streak, freshman Jamie Bridge (Plymouth, CT) has earned Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors for her performance both on the mound and at the plate last week.
Bridge earned her first win of the season against Potsdam State on Thursday, pitching seven innings and striking out 11 Bears while going 4-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and two runs scored. She would earn the save in game one against rival St. Lawrence on Saturday, getting the final five outs and allowing just one hit. She would then pick up the victory in game two, pitching the final four innings and shutting out the Saints while striking out six batters. At the plate she went 10-for-22 in six games, scoring six times and knocking in four runs.
FAYETTES LAX EFFORTS CITED
In a busy week for the Clarkson womens lacrosse team, freshman Paige Fayette (Theresa, NY) earned Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors for her performance in three league games.
Fayette recorded a goal and an assist in each of the first two games last week, losses to St. Lawrence and Vassar, before tallying six goals and an assist in Clarksons 18-6 win over Bard. Three of those goals game on free-position shots and she added a draw control as well. She ended the week with three groundballs and two draw controls.
Fayette leads the Golden Knights with 53 points, including a team-high 39 goals. She is second on the team with 14 assists. This marks the third time that Fayette has earned rookie of the week honors this season.

POTSDAM - Four members of Clarkson Universitys NCAA Championship womens hockey team have been invited to attend Canadas National Womens Program strength and conditioning camp, taking place May 7-11 at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ont.
Hockey Canada announced that Golden Knight sophomores Erin Ambrose (Keswick, ONT), Renata Fast (Burlington, ONT), Shannon MacAulay (Mt. Herbert, PEI) and Cayley Mercer (Exeter, ONT) are among the 104 players that have been invited to the prestigious camp.
This springs strength and conditioning camp marks the first National Womens Program activity for the 2014-15 season, as well as the first big step on the road to the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. Players selected for this camp are in consideration for the Canadian teams that will compete at the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Womens World Championship; 2015 Meco Cup, an international tournament featuring Europes top senior womens teams; as well as competitions with Canadas National Womens Team.

POTSDAM - Mens lacrosse player Pat Bonafede and womens softball player Katie Marsman have been named the SUNY Potsdam Athletes of the Week.
A sophomore midfielder, Bonafede (Churchville, N.Y.) led Potsdam with three goals and two assists in a 12-10 SUNYAC victory against Oneonta State on Saturday.
Bonafede added a goal and an assist in a 10-5 loss to St. Lawrence on Wednesday.
A sophomore first baseman, Marsman (Wantagh, N.Y.) batted 7-22 with a home run, five RBI, two runs scored, two doubles and drew a walk in leading the Bears to three victories this past week.
Marsman hit a game-tying home run in game one of the New Paltz twinbill on Saturday and then scored the winning run in game two to complete the conference sweep.
