BENCH WARRANT - MASSENA - Village police picked up Amanda L. Kerr, 26, of 63 Oliver Road, Massena, on a bench warrant for an alleged violation of her probationary sentence at 3:23 p.m. Wednesday at her workplace on Main Street. She was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $1,500.

Kerr had been sentenced to probation for three years in February for a possession of a hypodermic needle conviction. Probation officials said since being sentenced Kerr had admitted using suboxone without a prescription and telling her mother that she needed $35 per week to pay for drug testing at the probation office - a free service - and using that money to purchase suboxone. She also reportedly failed to report to her probation officer as directed and failed to comply with an order to undergo an alcohol and substance abuse evaluation.

Police said Kerr was additionally charged with a new count of possession of a hypodermic needle Wednesday afternoon when she was found in possession of a needle when she was being processed on the warrant.
