POTSDAM Slic Network Solutions, a locally owned and operated business, offers the fastest internet service available in their service areas. To demonstrate their speeds, Slic will host a Broadband vs Slap Shot Challenge for kids up to 14 years old at Clarksons Cheel Arena during the Really Big Show on Friday and Saturday.
Contestants will use street hockey equipment to shoot a puck as fast as possible at a goal and have their speeds measured using Clarkson baseballs radar equipment. Kids will compete in four different age divisions, Mites ages 8 yrs & younger, Squirts ages 9 & 10, PeeWee ages 11 & 12 and Bantams ages 13 & 14. Each participant will be given three shots and their fastest shot will be recorded. There will be giveaways throughout the event and the fastest speed from each age division will be entered into a drawing for prizes.
In addition to broadband Internet, Slic also offers phone and television service. Their latest addition, myEVTV, is a next generation IPTV offering with over 250 channels, and over 70 available in HD. The service is available with whole home DVR service and over-the-top services like integrated web content and Vudu video on demand service. Launched last summer, myEVTV continues to be gaining popularity amongst Slic rural customers.
