OFA Gears Up For Key Malone Games

Gearing up for a NAC Central road trips to Malone on Friday, the OFA Baseball and Softball teams both climbed to 2-0 with makeup game wins over Gouverneur on Friday.

At Father Martin Field the Devils recorded a 13-3 baseball victory and at Gouverneur’s Riverside Park the Lady Devils secured a 12-4 win.

OFA 13 - Gouverneur 3: The combination of Sebastian Quintilliani (5 innings) and Jordan Miller (2 innings) blanked the Wildcats over the last six inning on just one hit after the first inning where Dylan Gibson stroked an RBI single and Aaron McEathron crushed a long two-run homerun over the rightfield fence.

Braden Felong accounted for the other Gouverneur hit.

The Devils answered with a six-run first inning and went on to collect 10 hits on the day.

Zach Barr led the winning offense with a three-run double in the first inning a two-run single in the second inning an an RBI single in a five-run third inning. John Tayler singled twice and scored three runs and DaKota Brady singled, scored three times and made a beautiful diving catch on a ball slicing down the leftfield line.

Nick Sweeney, Josh Carroll, Jon Rogers and Miller all added singles for OFA.

OFA 12 - Gouverneur 4: Riley Luckie struck out five and did not allow a walk pitching her second win in two days backed by a nine-hit offense which generated three runs in the sixth inning and five in the seventh. Jillian Lincoln led the way stroking three singles and driving three runs and Luckie stroked an RBI single and scored three runs.

Alicia Shaver singled and drove in two runs, Kalie Downie doubled, Madie Bresset singled with an RBI and Paige Perry added a single.

Taylor Andrews belted a homerun and a single for Gouverneur. Lexi Rowe lined a triple and Alysia Whitton and Isabela Spieta added singles.
