Private family services for Irma “Jean” Paradis, age 87 a resident of St. Joseph’s Nursing Home and formerly of 1061 Washington Street in Ogdensburg will be held at Foxwood Memorial Park with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating.

There will be no public calling hours. Mrs. Paradis passed away on Friday (April 25, 2014) at the St. Joseph’s Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.

Surviving are her two sons Michael Paradis and Robert Paradis & his wife Mary; her daughter Joyce Marceau & her husband Robert all of Ogdensburg; five grandchildren Nicole Rutherford & her husband Dan of Lisbon, Michelle Marceau of Ogdensburg, Danielle Langstaff & her husband Jason of Ogdensburg, Brad Paradis & his wife Sherry of Ogdensburg, Shawn Paradis of Ogdensburg; eleven great-grandchildren Zachary Corkins, Ethan Martin, Noah Martin, Cooper Rutherford, Noelle Marceau, Rylee, River, Rainer & Rayah Langstaff and Emily & Gabrielle Paradis.

Her husband Lloyd Paradis and a sister Yvonne Powers predeceased her.

Jean was born on January 14, 1927 in Ogdensburg NY the daughter of Arthur & Irene (Lassail) Kirby. She married Lloyd G. Paradis on October 31, 1950 at Notre Dame Church with Msgr. Charbonneau officiating. She worked various customer service jobs to include the White House Restaurant and Phillips Diner where she worked until her retirement in the 1970’s.

Jean enjoyed playing bingo, knitting, reading, QVC, watching TV, especially golf with Tiger Woods, camping and spending time with her family.

The family of Jean Paradis also wishes to thank the staff and residents of the St. Joseph’s Nursing Home for the wonderful care and friendship given to their mother over the past five years.
