Private family graveside services for Neil K. Storie, age 80 of Oak Point Road in Hammond will be held on Saturday (April 26, 2014) at 4:00pm at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Hammond with Pastor Rob Schirmer officiating.

Surviving is his wife Carol of Hammond; two sons David Storie & his wife Patricia of Hammond, William Storie of Chandler, AZ; a daughter Ann Easter & her companion David Bassett of Alexandria Bay; two brothers Wayne Storie & his wife Lana of Chippewa Bay, Kenton Storie & his wife Sharon of N. Syracuse; a sister Sherrill Eustis & her husband Jack of Evergreen, CO; three grandchildren Justin & Ian Storie and Christopher Easter.

His parents Karl & Rita Storie, along with a son-in-law Robert Easter predeceased him.

Neil was born on June 24, 1933 in Hammond NY a son of Karl D. & Rita (Nicol) Storie. He graduated from Hammond rural schools where he was a stellar athlete playing football, baseball, basketball and track. He also was a member of the Future Famers of American while in high school. On May 23, 1953 he married Carol Woodcock at St. Mary’s in Ogdensburg. Neil assisted his parents on the family farm until their death when he and his wife Carol resumed the operations until the mid 1980’s.

Neil enjoyed watching his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, golfing, sharing laughter with others, spending time with his family and friends and will be remembered by many in the community for his willingness to assist anyone in need and he was also an avid Syracuse University fan.
