POTSDAM - More than 700 Clarkson University students will be granted bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees at commencement ceremonies at 2:30 p.m. May 10 in the Cheel Arena.
An additional 236 students received degrees at a winter ceremony.
Receiving honorary degrees and addressing students, families and guests will be former U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu and Bridges to Prosperity CEO Avery Bang.
During the commencement ceremony, faculty members will be honored with the John W. Graham Jr. Faculty Research Award and the Clarkson University Distinguished Teaching Award.
The Levinus Clarkson Award and the Frederica Clarkson Award will be bestowed upon two students, respectively, who have demonstrated unsurpassed scholarship and promise of outstanding academic achievement.
The weekend will also be marked by the commissioning of United States Army and Air Force ROTC (Reserve Officers Training Corps) cadets at 3 p.m. May 9.
