Potsdam Central pulled away to a 14-3 NAC win on the road over Saranac Lake while Massena Central fashioned an 18-4 non-league decision at home over Northwood Prep in varsity girls lacrosse action on Wednesday.

Potsdam 14, Saranac Lake 3: The visiting Lady Sandstoners built a commanding 8-1 halftime lead as Hannah Drecshel led the way offensively with five goals. Kiona Loran netted another four goals followed by Kalie Grant with three while Abby Gruneisen and Matisyn Beamer each struck for singletons.

Katelyn Bloom made five saves backstopping the win as the Lady Sandstoners improved to 8-1 heading into a mid-season rematch with Massena on the road Monday at Mike Nicholas Field starting at 4:30 p.m.

Massena 18, Northwood 4: In Massena, the host Lady Raiders also raced out to an 8-1 lead by halftime before posting the convincing win. Courtney Manley sparked a balanced attack with four goals and an assist. Shannon Casey (1 assist) and Trysten Burns broke through for three goals each. Mimi Lazore (1 assist) and Ashlynn Olson connected for two goals apiece. Alanna Pyke, Jacelyn Lazore and Mia Jermano tallied a goal and assist each. Katie MacCuaig accounted for the other goal while Maddi Dillabough chipped in a solo assist.

Chloe Doctor generated a pair of goals in the losing cause. Megan Maravian and Kalie Hutchinson scored the others.

Massena (4-2, 3-1) heads to Ogdensburg this afternoon for a 4:30 p.m. matchup with OFA before heading to Watertown High for a non-league matchup on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
