MASSENA: Winnie E. Beaulieu, 89 of County Route 40, passed away on May 1,2014 at St. Regis Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. Friends and family may be received on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Phillips Memorial Home in Massena. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 2:00 pm at St. Raymond’s Church in Raymondville with Rev. Andrew Amyot presiding. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in Louisville.

Winnie was born on March 23, 1925 in Norwood the daughter of Carl and Grace (Smith) Ellis. She married Charles H. Beaulieu on September 11, 1942 at St.Lawrence Rectory in Louisville by the Rev. Patrick B. Riley. Mr. Beaulieu predeceased her on December 8, 2001. Winnie was employed at Massena Central School as Food Service Manager working in Louisville Elementary School. She was a member of Altar and Rosary Society of St. Lawrence Church, Seaway Valley Senior Citizens. She is survived by two sons, and three daughters, Neil F. of Ravina, OH, William C. (Sue) of Massena, Carolyn LaDue of Raymondville, Linda Barnett of Newton Falls, OH, Nancy (Richard) Tucker of Norfolk, NY, 13 grandchildren, a step granddaughter, 14 great grandchildren.She is also survived by sisters, Ruth Ziser of Brushton, NY, Rita Wilcox of Delmar, Joanne Ellis of Clinton, NY, brothers, James, Ray Ellis both of Waddington, and Robert Ellis of Delmar, NY, also a beloved nephew Gordon Ellis. Winnie was predeceased by her siblings, Margaret Bogart, Kathyrn Ketcham, Beatrice Welcher, Ida Mae Vari, Edith McMartin, Wayland and Ronald Ellis. At the family’s request memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley or Louisville Volunteer Fire Department.
