Robert L. Griswold, 91, of Ogdensburg, died on April 23, 2014, at St. Josephs Nursing Home. There will be no services. He is survived by his wife Ruth (Barton), sons, Robert G. and his wife Avril Griswold of Norwood, James D. Griswold and his companion Marcia Britton, of Rensselaer Falls and Laramie, WY, a daughter Rhonda J. Griswold of Leland, NC, step daughter, Suzanne J. and her husband Alan Todd of Ogdensburg, stepson Charles A. Jenner, grandchildren, Nichole Costa of Colorado, Eric and his wife Lorry Griswold of Fort Collins, Colorado, great grandchildren, Thomas Griswold and Eric Griswold Jr., one niece and one nephew. He was predeceased by a brother Dean Griswold. Bob was born in Corning, New York, on June 8, 1922, the son of Percy and Naomi Lilly Griswold. He was in the Army during WWII and was stationed in the South Pacific. He received a Bachelors Degree from Oswego State and a Masters Degree from St. Lawrence University. He married Ruth Barton Jenner in 1957 in Ogdensburg. Bob was an industrial arts teacher for the Ogdensburg City School District from 1947 – 1977, until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking (making custom furniture), fishing, hunting and traveling. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.
