Salmon River golfers sweep past N-N, E-K


CANTON - The Salmon River Central golf team gained an NAC Division II tri-meet sweep over Norwood-Norfolk and host Edwards-Knox at the Partridge Run Golf Course on Monday.

Jacob Bero had the low round of the day to sweep the third trio as the Shamrocks outscored N-N 3.5-1.5 and E-K 4-1. Tommy Thomas and Austin Cummins both shot 52 out of the second and fifth matches. Rosentonkwa Tarbell had a 57 in the first match while Evan Swamp carded a 61 in the fourth as Salmon River improved to 3-0.

Beau Catimon shot the low round for N-N with a 49 in the third group. Jacob Levison won in the fifth matchup with a 52. Ty Cotter had a 52 in splitting a point in the second group. Isaac Barkley was in the fifthmatch and posted a 55 while Brandon Palmer finished with a 65 in the top spot for the Flyers.


In a Division I tri-meet at the Potsdam Town and Country Club, the host Sandstoners fell to both OFA (208) and Madrid-Waddington (251) after posting a team score of 271.

Aidan Clothier fashioned a medalist round of 37 for Potsdam followed by Zach McDonald (53), Riley Clark (55), Dan French (62), Kenny Eurto (64) and Bob Milne (71). Par for the meet was 34 instead of 36 due to the par five ninth hole being reduced to a par three.

Conor Hannan and Dillon Binion anchored the OFA effort with rounds of 40 as all five Blue Devils finished in 43 strokes or less.

Jeff Mott (45) and Wade Lawrence (48) paced M-W.
