Salmon River, Massena, SLC laxmen net NAC road wins

The Salmon River Central, Massena Central and St. Lawrence Central varsity boys lacrosse teams all netted road wins while Potsdam Central fell short in NAC matchups on Tuesday.

Salmon River 21, OFA 2: In Ogdensburg, the Shamrocks (8-0, 7-0) built a 6-0 lead in the first quarter then pulled away to a 14-0 halftime lead as Blaze White generated five goals and two assists.

Skkylar Thomas fashioned two goals and four assists. Trenton Tarbell broke through for a trio of goals.

Bryton Burns, Skye Sunday and Cody Lazore each finished with two goals and an assist.

Myles Delormier (3 assists), Dalton Roundpoint (2 assists), Kason Tarbell and Frank David struck for the other goals.

Andrew Roddy and Dallas Ashley scored for OFA (3-5) while Nate Peo logged an assist.

Tazz Oakes and Darius LaFrance combined to make four saves backstopping the win. Quinton Denner handled nine shots for the Blue Devils.

The Shamrocks return to action on Thursday at home against Saranac Lake.

Massena 8, Saranac Lake 6: At Saranac Lake, the visiting Raiders overcame an early 3-0 deficit then scored three unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to deny the Red Storm.

Sako Rourke struck for his three goals in the final frame to spark the late comeback and helped set up another Massena tally earlier in the game to anchor the winning attack.

Kendrick Angus also connected for three goals while Nick Henrie managed a goal and two assissts. Ryan Thomas had the other goal.

Brendan Brokerick, Evan Kassian and Hunter Pyke each logged solo helpers.

Jeff Stevens led the way offensively for Saranac Lake with four goals.

Oliver Holmes netted the other two while Kevin Duguay chipped in a pair of assists.

Troi Benedict and Tyler Armstrong (9 saves) shared crease duties in the winning effort. Jacob Merrill had 15 stops working between the pipes for the Red Storm.

Massena (6-4) plays host to OFA at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Mike Nicholas Field.

SLC 10, Colton-Pierrepont 0: In Colton, the visiting Larries (5-4) steadily pulled away from a 4-0 halftime lead as senior Marshall Burninghausen generated five goals and two assists.

Brody Simonds finished with a goal and two assists. Styles Arquiett scored twice and Lukas Arquiett set up a pair of goals.

Nick Randall and Luke Collins broke through for the other goals while Jacob Sutton posted a solo helper.

Kody Kocsis turned aside seven shots goaltending the shutout while Major McKinley stood tall making 21 saves for the Colts.

The Larries are slated to take on Canton Central at the SUNY Canton turf field at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Canton 16, Potsdam 7: At SUNY Canton, the Bears pulled away from a 9-6 halftime lead.

Josh Huiatt anchored a balanced Canton offense with three goals and two assists.

Isaac Thrasher (4 assists), Garrett Glasgow (2 assists), Cody Moore (1 assist) and Jake Facey struck for two goals apiece.

Mark Mahoney (1 assist) and Gage Emerson scored the other goals for the Bears.

Nate Gibson and Andrew McCormick combined for nine saves for Canton (9-1, 9-0).

Chase Palmer stopped nine shots for Potsdam (2-8).
