DW - MASSENA - Village police charged Michael L. Cook, 30, of 134 River Road, Akwesasne, with driving while intoxicated, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle on a public highway and ticketed him for failure to keep right following a traffic stop at 1:27 p.m. Friday on Outer Willow Street. He was also picked up on a bench warrant for failure to appear as directed on a prior driving while intoxicated charge pending in Massena Town Court. He was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $2,000 cash on the bench warrant and an additional $2,500 cash on the new DWI charge. Massena-based state police had charged Cook with aggravated driving while intoxicated, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and an open container violation following a traffic stop at 1:10 p.m. April 15, 2012 on Rooseveltown Road. He was also ticketed for failure to keep right and operation of an unregistered motor vehicle. The warrant on that charge had been signed in September 2012.
