Salmon River split a twinbill on the road againts OFA while Massena fell short to Canton in NAC Central Division varsity softball matchups on Thursday.
Salmon River 6-2, OFA 4-13: Kera Ghostlaws second single of the game broke a 4-4 tie in the top of the sixth inning to spark the Lady Shamrocks to the win in the first game. Winning pitcher Melanie Taylor, and Jenny Dejung both singled for the Shamrocks and Sierra White rapped a double.
Riley Luckie (RBI) and Kristen Snyder singled twice for OFA and Madi Bresett, Jill Lincoln and Kaylee Domnie singled.
Chelsea Raven scattered seven hits in her first varsity start and Kristen Snyder (2 RBIs) rapped a homerun and a pair of singles to lead the offensive support.
Riley Luckie stroked a pair of RBI-singles for OFA, Cheyenne Tyo also singled twice and Taylor Perry tripled in a seven-run fourth inning. Jill Lincoln, Madi Bresett and Mollee Ahrens.
Melanie Taylor tripled for Salmon River and Kera Ghostlaw, Sierra White, losing pitcher Brittany Brooks, Cierra Hill and Jenny Dejung all singled.
Canton 6, Massena 0: At Canton, Beth Pearson fired a three-hit shutout, striking out 14 Raiders and allowing just one walk. Amber Thomas started and took the loss with Vanessa Kirkey pitching five good innings in relief for Massena.
Pierson helped her cause by going 4-for-4 with a double. Also for the Bears, Lauren Smith went 2-for-4 with a double, Sienna Wilmart went 2-for-2 while Ashley Mead, Cindy Flanagan and Kali Frank all singled.
For the Raiders, Kirkey, Bailey Dillabough and Southwick all singled.
