NORWOOD - The Norwood Village Green Concert Series is excited to announce that it has successfully completed its “Light Up the Bandshell” campaign on Adirondack Gives, the crowdfunding site for Adirondack region nonprofits initiated by the Adirondack Community Foundation.

“Light Up the Norwood Village Green Concert Series” raised $800 for the Norwood Village Green Concert Series, Inc., to help fund the beginnings of a new lighting system for the Norwood Bandshell.

In this particular fundraising effor,t the series raised the necessary funds to purchase 2 Mega Par Profile Systems. Each system includes 4 Mega Par Profile Lights, a built-in control with a variety of chase programs, a stand with a soft pack carrying case and a foot controller. The system will be delivered on May 19.

At the same time 4 Spectra LED Par 110 lamps will be installed. The $5,000 needed for these lamp instruments were granted by the Northern New York Community Foundation.

This is the first step in replacing 12 Par lamps that are deteriorating. Eventually the entire system will be replaced with 8 more Spectra LED Par 100 lamps.

“The series has served over 600,000 audience members and thousands of school children and performers over the past 40 years, and we are thankful that many individuals, foundations, and businesses continue to support our efforts ”. - Joseph M. Liotta, president and founding program director.
