Massena, Salmon River golfers split NAC tri-meets

The Massena Central and Salmon River Central golf teams settled for NAC tri-meet splits on Monday.

MEET AT OFA

In a Division I meet at the St. Lawrence State Park Golf Course, Massena posted a team score of 221 in downing Gouverneur (239) while falling to host OFA (206).

Hunter Francis carded a 37 to lead the Raiders followed by Kendrick Swamp with a 45 while Brenden Dobbins and Mark Manchester both finished with 46’s and Shane Tarbell posted a 48.

Dillion Binion led all shooters with a 36 for OFA. Conor Hannan had a 38 and Ryan Petell a 39.

MEET AT CEDAR VIEW

In a Division II meet at the Cedar View Country Club in Helena, the host Shamrocks beat Canton 3.5-1.5 but suffered a 3-2 loss to Tupper Lake.

Austin Cumins shot a medalist round of 41 to earn a point in both his matches for the Shamrocks. Rasentoka Tarbell also gained a sweep with a 44. Also competing for Salmon River were Tommy Thomas (45), Jacob Bero (54) and Evan Swamp (57).

DIVISION I

In other Division I meets on Monday, Brushton-Moira outshot Potsdam 264-284 and Madrid-Waddington knocked off Franklin Academy 230-232.

BMC 264, Potsdam 284: At the Highland Greens in Brushton, Aidon Clothier had a 38 but it wasn’t enough to keep the visiting Sandstoners from falling to the Panthers. Zach McDonald posted a 51 followed by Bailey Fregoe with a 60, Riley Clark with a 65, Josh Vandervele with a 70 and Dan French with a 72.

Devin Delisle shot the low round of the meet with a 36 that included three birdies. Matt Miles had a 48 followed by Matt Delisle with a 58.

M-W 230, FA 232: At the Malone Country Club, Jeff Mott tallied a 42 to anchor the winning effort. Alex Hammond and Josh Pickering each shot 44.
