CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE - POTSDAM - Village police charged Kyle E. Kain, 21, of Potsdam with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana at 7:50 a.m. Thursday following a traffic stop in Sandstone Park on Pine Streetafter responding to a report of an erratic driver entering the village on state Route 345. Kain was found in possession of a small quantity of marijuana and a small quantity of cocaine. Kain was released on an appearance ticket.

1940Patrol responded to a medical alarm located on Lawrence Avenue.

2009Patrol completed an equipment inspection for a village resident.

2051Patrol initiated a traffic stop on Main Street for a cell phone violation. Verbal warning.

2100Patrol initiated a traffic stop on Maple Street and issued Maria Gambellacarballo a traffic ticket for failing to yield the right of way.

2126Patrol initiated a traffic stop on Elm Street and issued Taylor Dow ticketsfor an expired registration andpassing a steady red traffic light.

2149 Patrols received a report of a couple having a heated argument in the area near Depot Street.

2200Patrol observed three males in the Scanlon’s Auto Parts parking lot. Kevin Debiew was ticketed for urinating in public.

2320Patrol initiated a traffic stop on Main Street and ticketed Morgan D. Dunn for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

2347Patrol initiated a traffic stop on Market Street and issued a verbal warning for an improper turn.
