Massena Central closed out the Central Division season with a win on the road over Gouverneur while Norwood-Norfolk wrapped up the East Division campaign by sweeping a pair of five-inning games at home over Chateaugay as the NAC varsity baseball season ended on Thursday.

Massena 6, Gouverneur 2: Senior lefty Tyler Haas fanned nine and walked four going the first five innings for the win as the Raiders built an early 3-1 lead then put the game out of reach with a three-run rally in the sixth inning where Connor Paquin drilled an RBI-double and Patrick Manning launched an RBi-triple. Josh LaShomb (4K, 3BB) came on to provide two innings of scoreless relief. Dylan Gibson (5IP, 7K, 6W) took the loss.

Bailey Hewlett also made lead offensive contributions in the winning effort going 2-3 with a double, RBI and two runs scored. Isaiah Dillabough singled, scored a run and drove in another while Isaac Ward singled to account for the other Massena hit.

Ryan Gibson had an RBi-single for Gouverneur (2-10). Aaron McEathron singled and scored a run.

The Raiders improved to 12-2 overall with the win as they get set to play a non-league game at Potsdam Central today at 2 p.m. before taking on Franklin Academy in the Section 10 Class A Championship Game next week.

N-N 4-11, Chateaugay 2-1: At Vern Burrows Field in Norfolk, the Flyers rallied late to win the opener then struck early and often in the nightcap to complete the sweep of five-inning games.

Tristen Harvey (4IP, 5K, 2BB, 4H) pitched the win in the first game with Peter Jarvis (2K) coming on to work a scoreless inning of relief in the fifth. Nick Ashline (5K, 1BB) went the distance in taking the loss.

Zeb Brown singled and scored a pair of runs to anchor the Flyer offense. Kyler MacIntire (2 stolen bases) and RJ Bendt both singled and scored a run while Harvey, Jarvis and Tristen St. Andrews connected for the other hits as N-N pushed across a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth after the Bulldogs had tied the game at 2-2 with a solo run in the top half of the inning.

Chris Cluff doubled and scored a run for Chateaugay. Isaac Kinney connected for a pair of singles.

The nightcap saw the Flyers score three runs in each of their first two at-bats in building a 6-1 lead before breaking the game open with a five-run outburst in the top of the fourth.

Zeb Brown (4IP, 4K, 0BB, 4H) pitched the win with Zach Benware working a scoreless fifth inning of relief. Michael Sandvig was tagged with the loss.

Brown led the way offensively going 3-4 with three runs scored and two RBI. Harvey (2rs, 2RBI), Benware (2rs) and Tristen Pettit (rs) drilled two hits apiece.

Ashline poled an RBI-double that scored Derek LaBare with the only Chateaugay run in the first inning. Sandvig, Kinney and LaBare had the other hits.

The Flyers moved to 10-4 with the sweep and will now begin defense of their Class C title starting next Tuesday with a semi-final round matchup at home.

In the other NAC baseball finales on Thursday, Franklin Academy posted a 6-3 Central Division win over OFA while the East Division game pitting Parishville-Hopkinton at St. Regis Falls was cancelled due to SRF not having enough players to field a team.
