DWI - POTSDAM - Village police charged Tyler G. Scott, 21, of Potsdam with driving while intoxicated at 2:34 a.m. Friday following a traffic stop on Leroy Street. He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.15 percent. A BAC of 0.08 percent or higher is considered proof of intoxication. Scott was released on an appearance ticket.

Police said they made the traffic stop after they observed Scott’s vehicle come to a complete stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Leroy and Cottage streets then accelerate forward at a high rate of speed, squealing the rear tires and creating excessive noise.
