Massena Memorial Hospital initiates discussions with firm over operation of dialysis center


MASSENA - Massena Memorial Hospital has initiated discussions with American Renal Associates, LLC, (ARA), Beverly, Mass., as the potential operator of its renal dialysis unit located at 290 Main St.t.

American Renal was organized over 14 years ago through the efforts of healthcare executives with extensive experience in the dialysis industry. Currently American Renal operates 155 centers in 23 states and the District of Columbia, serving over 10,000 dialysis patients.

American Renal recently acquired the dialysis operations of both Plattsburgh and Elizabeth hospitals and is in the administrative process to acquire an additional north Ccountry hospital dialysis program in the coming months.

American Renal brings the complete range of disciplines and resources necessary for the successful development and operation of high quality dialysis programs including clinical, regulatory, technical, quality assurance, billing and reimbursement, general accounting, human resource, purchasing, marketing, legal counsel and compliance.

MMH looks forward to continue meaning discussions with American Renal as a key strategic financial initiative for the future.

American Renal representatives and members of the hospital administration met with the MMH Dialysis Center medical director and staff to talk about the benefits and plans of partnering with American Renal in the future. American Renal noted to the staff the key to continued success of the dialysis unit is to retain the quality staff; and values their clinical and dialysis expertise.

Additionally, the dialysis director, Darlena James, RN, MSN, CNN, has and will be updating the patients as MMH moves forward with American Renal.
