Norfolk, NY- Funeral services for 78-year old Gloria I. (Remington) Lazore of Norfolk will be held Wednesday, May 28 at 11:00 AM at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam. Friends may call at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam on Tuesday, May 27 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mrs. Lazore died at her home in the Town of Norfolk on May 24, 2014. Rev. Robert Billings will officiate the funeral service, and the burial will follow after the funeral in the Fairview Cemetery in Parishville. Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Calvan (Sheryl) Thomas of Parishville, Mrs. Mark (Shelly) Zackarouskas of Norfolk, Mrs. Timothy (Julie) Wunder of Norfolk; two sons: Frederick T. Lazore, Jr. of Newfield, NY, and Kevin Lazore also of Norfolk; a brother John Perry of Ogdensburg, six grandchildren: Leigh-Anne, Brandon, Bryan, Jenna, Eric, and Brittney; and 7 great-grandchildren: Hunter, Johnathan, Zeck, Hailey, Ethen, Abygail, and Justin.
Gloria was born in Winthrop, NY on July 1, 1935 the daughter of Gayland and Della (LaRose) Remington. She graduated from Lisbon High School. On July 21, 1956 she married Frederick T. Lazore in Winthrop, NY Mr. Lazore died April 25, 2003.
Gloria was employed for 36 years at the Central Supply Dept. of Massena Memorial Hospital. An avid camper, Gloria was also a member of the Norwood Free Methodist Church, the West Stockholm Red Hatters, and the Norfolk TOPS. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Gloria was a New York Yankees fan, who particularly liked Derek Jeter. She enjoyed the challenge of crossword, number search and other puzzles and enjoyed attending numerous country music concerts.
If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to The American Heart Association, American Lung Association, or the American Diabetes Association.
