Laughing Crow Winery improves to 7-0 atop Town and Tavern Leagues standings


Laughing Crow Winery notched wins over Timber Tavern (26-14) and Pit Stop-Big Boys (19-8) last week to emerge as the lone undefeated in the Town and Tavern Modified Softball League at 7-0.


Laughing Crow 26, Timber Tavern 14: Game MVP Boot LaPage went 4-5 with a double, homerun and four runs scored as the Laughing Crow batters came to life over the final three innings after the teams had battled to a 12-12 tie through the first four frames. Andrew Stone came a single away from hitting for the cycle with three runs scored while Casey Keating went 3-5 with two homeruns, a double and three runs scored.

Nick Kenny anchored the Timber Tavern offense going 3-4 with a homerun and two runs scored. Denny Keleher was 2-3 with two RBI and two runs scored while Derek Brown homered and scored a pair of runs.

Coast Guard 15, Riverview-Dars 9: An eight-run seventh inning helped Coast Gaurd hand Riverview there first loss. MVP Kevin Kelly pitched well,striking out three while smacking a homerun. Dustin Currier contributed with a 3-4 performance with a double and two runs scored. Jake Ward added two hits with a run scored.

Joe Foster pitched well in the losing cause and played a lead role offensively going 3-4 with a double and two runs scored. Terry Paige went 2-3 with two runs scored while Troy Kovach was 3-4 with a double and two runs scored.

Pit Stop-Big Boys 29, Rampage 4: A shortened Rampage bench could not handle a hard hitting Pit Stop offense. MVP Rizz Connors went 5-5 with two doubles and four runs. Bret Derouchie went 5-5 with four runs scored. Jordan Marsh was 4-4 with three runs scored.

For Rampage, Jim Monroe, Ron Converse and Kyle Clemmo all went 2-3 with a run scored.

Gandy Dancer 19, Parishville Amvets 17: Gandy was up a large margin most of this contest before the Amvets scored 12 runs in the seventh but Justin Dowdle came back in the game and closed it out. MVP Tim Harmer sluggled three homeruns to highlight the winning offense. Justin Dowdle went 3-4 with a homerun and two runs scored. Nick Frederick went 3-4 with three runs scored.

Leading the way for the Amvets were David Grant (3-4, triple 3RS), Jeremy Waite (2-3, homerum 2RS) and Brian Phillips (2-4, 2RS).

Norwood Legion 26, No Law Warriors 14:Norwood Legion ended its losing streak by throwing up 26 runs. MVP Nate Peck went 5-5 with four runs scored. Jason Gallant was 5-5 with two doubles and two runs scored. Chris Farnsworth went 2-4 with a homerun and two runs scored.

For the Warriors, Devon Euto led the way going 5-5 with three runs scored. Derek LaBaff was 3-4, with three runs scored while Mike Weller went 2-4 with a homerun.


Timber Tavern 9, No Law Warriors 3: Timber Tavern scored runs in three of the final four innings to gradually pull away from a 2-2 tie through three. MVP Dennis Keleher pitched the win and helped his cause going 2-4 with a double and run scored. Nick Kenny was 3-4 with a double, RBI and three runs scored while Marcus Keleher was 3-4 with an RBI.

For the Warriors, Derek Labaff led the way going 2-3 with a triple and run scored. Quinn Patraw launched a homerun and Erik Mclaughlin went 2-3 with a double.

Coast Gaurd 24, Parishville Amvets 10:Everyone on Coast Gaurd scored at least one run as MVP Jake Ward led the way going 5-5 with a homerun, two doubles, three runs scored and three RBI. Justin Shope was 5-5 with two doubles and five runs scored. while Avery Barney had four hits, including a triple and came around to score twice.

Contributing to the Amvets offense were; Zach Baldwin (2-4, triple, 2RS), Brian Phillips (2 doubles, RS) and Dennis Tebo, Jr. (1-3, 2RS).

Riverview-Dars 17, Rampage 5:A balanced attack led Riverview over Rampage where 10 players recorded two hits. MVP Matt Macaulay went 4-4 with three homeruns. Jon Richards pitched five innings, giving up just one run while striking out two. He also contributed offensively going 3-4 with a double while Mike Macaulay was 3-3 with two runs scored.

For Rampage, Leon J. Shorette took the loss in his first career start where he notched two strikeouts. Kevin Currier paced the offense going 2-3 with a homerun and two runs scored. Kyle Clemmo (2-3, homerun) and Jacy Charleston (2-3, RS) also contributed.
