Massena: Ann S. Gillespie, 68, of Dodge St. Massena passed away peacefully at Massena Memorial Hospital, early Saturday (May 31, 2014) morning surrounded by her loving family and friends. Friends and family are welcome to call on the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena on Monday June 2, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. A mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday June 3, 2014 at St. Mary’s Church with Rev. Bryan D. Stitt presiding. Interment will follow in Bixby Cemetery, Norfolk. Ann was born in Massena to the late Paul and Simone (Slyman) Neverette on April 21, 1946. She was married to the love of her life, Terry A. Gillespie on May 26, 1990 at Grace Methodist Church. Ann retired from NYSARC after nearly 10 years of serving her families and community. She enjoyed spending time with friends and going to the Casino. A creative person who enjoyed arts and crafts, with a flair for making designer cakes that were enjoyed by many. Her love for animals and her cats was apparent to anyone who knew her. Ann is survived by her Husband Terry A. Gillespie, a daughter Theresa and husband Shawn Voyten of Syracuse, NY; son William and wife Tammy LaPorte of Jacksonville, FL; and a sister Rose Eckerholm of Minnesota. Also surviving are her grandchildren Stacy LaPorte Jr. and Brandy LaPorte of Massena, Darcy Bronchetti and FiancÚ Chelsie Baxter of Norwood; great-grandchildren Carson, Bentley, Nova and Addyson along with several nieces, nephews and great friends. Ann was predeceased by a son Stacy Laporte Sr. and brother Paul Neverette.
