POTSDAM - The Rotary Club of Potsdam will honor Rev. William Cuthbert with the Service Above Self Award and Maureen Farina with the Paul Harris Award at its annual dinner on June 25 at the newly opened Jake’s on the Water in Hannawa Falls.
Christa Carroll will also be installed as 2014-2015 president at the event, while Amy Flack will be honored as outgoing president.
The Service Above Self Award is given to those who have made outstanding contributions to the Potsdam community. The club will honor Rev Cuthbert with the award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Potsdam community. The retired Baptist minister has served on numerous community boards, including Sunmount, TRIAD, Mayfield, Rotary, Dodge Pond and the Potsdam Neighborhood Center. He is a past Rotary president and a Paul Harris Fellow.
Ms. Farina will be honored as a Paul Harris Fellow for her demonstrated commitment to the goals and purposes of Rotary and “in appreciation of her tangible assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world.” Farina is a past president and board member of Potsdam Rotary. She has served as chair of the Duck Pluck fundraiser and worked on the wheelchair challenge, scholarship golf tournament, Rotary Foundation, grant writing, and Dodge Pond projects. She also serves on the board of the Potsdam Holiday Fund.
All Rotarians and past Rotarians, members of the community, and family, friends and colleagues of the honorees are invited to attend.
A social hour with a cash bar gets underway at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m.
