Potsdam Central holds Pink Out Day for breast cancer awareness in honor of fifth-grade teacher

POTSDAM - Potsdam Central School District recently held a “Pink Out” day for Breast Cancer Awareness in honor of fifth-grade teacher Lynn Tharrett.

Lynn was recently diagnosed with Multifocal Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer.

She is currently in Minnesota at the Mayo Clinic recovering from her first surgery. She will have to make several trips back to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota with at least one more major surgery.

They are holding a spaghetti dinner in her honor from 1 to 6 p.m. June 15 at the Parishville Fire Hall. The cost of the dinner is $7 per person. They will also have a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle, many other raffles (such as an Adirondack chair, five-piece patio set, etc.).

Team Tharrett t-shirts, Team Tharrett bracelets and a barber who will be doing men’s haircuts for a donation with all proceeds going to Lynn.

They are still accepting donations. If you would like to donate or have any question, please contact Patty Phillips, 265- 2922; Tessa Fields, 244-2544; Sheila Tiernan, 322-4770; or Michelle Garrow, 353-6783.
