Brian Leonard Football Camp slated for June 30-July3

POTSDAM - The 2014 Brian Leonard Football Camp will be held June 30-July 3 (Day Camp Only) at Sandstoner Park located at 43 Pine Street.

Leonard, a native of Gouverneur and star player at Gouverneur High School and Rutgers University, understands what it means to play at the elite levels, and he has the ability to translate his playing experiences in Pop Warner, college, and the NFL to benefit the campers.

Leonard, an eighth-year pro has played in 87 NFL games and has caught 142 passes for 993 yards (7 yards per catch). He has also carried the ball 221 times for 828 yards (3.8 yards per carry). In addition, he is credited with 99 career first downs.

Brian will be coaching at camp and teaching the football skills that have made him a champion.

The camp is for beginner to experienced football players. The camp includes instruction, skills drills, and game competition (non-contact). Campers areseparated by age group.

The participants will be taught by top level college and high school football coaches who will bring their expertise to camp to provide outstanding instructionand an opportunity for the players to demonstrate their ability.

The camp will offer non-contact instruction with emphasis on improving each camper’s fundamental skills and an atmosphere that will encourage teamwork and selfmotivation

Each camper will receive a T-Shirt, Camp Team Photo, Autographed NFL Football Card of Brian Leonard, a individual picture with Brian Leonard, and quality instruction by some of the brightest minds in football.

The camp is open for students in grades 1-12.

Former camp participants who have received speciall awards this season include; M2013 Most Valuable Player Miles Sexton (Immaculate Heart High School) will play football for Seton Hill University this fall (NCAA II), Eight campers made the 2013 Watertown Daily Times All-North Football Team including: First Team:

O’den Robertson - Running Back - Potsdam, J.P. Reagan - Running Back - Massena, Nolan Rufa - Offensive Line - Ogdensburg Free Academy, Zach Rottier - Defensive Line - Potsdam, Kevin Goolden - Defensive Line - Ogdensburg Free Academy, Austyn Frechette - Linebacker - Immaculate Heart Central and Second Team selections: Jacob Bryant - Wide Receiver - Potsdam, Jordan McCormick - Linebacker - Ogdensburg Free Academy, and honorable mention selections: Morgan Stevens - Quarterback - Tupper Lake, Hunter Yerdon - Quarterback - Canton, Miles Sexton - Wide Receiver - Immaculate Heart Central, Troy Gates - Linebacker - Gouverneur and Eric Mullin - Linebacker - South Jefferson.

All campers must have a copy of a doctor signed physical exam (team phyiscals accepted) and health history form (found on the LeonardCamp website), and complete registration form with a check payment (check or money order) for $260.

We will only accept cash or money order for walk up registration duringthe first morning of camp. Canadian Campers are required to pay the U.S. equivalent. There is an additional $5 charge for check or money order deposit cost.

The camper is required to bring a non-perishable lunch and a water bottle. Due to the heat, please use a cooler with an ice pack in it. Label all items with first and last name.
