PETIT LARCENY - MASSENA - Village police charged Kevin G. Hines, 33, of 118 1/2 Maple St., Massena, with petit larceny after responding to a shoplifting complaint at 3:41 p.m. Thursday at the Massena Walmart. He allegedly walked out of the store without paying for $141.58 worth of merchandise, ranging socks and tee-shirts to an airgun, BB ammunition and CO2 cartridges. Village police were assisted by U.S. Border Patrol agents and Massena-based state police. Police said Hines raced out of the parking lot after being confronted by store loss prevention associates and was followed by the Border Patrol agent into a grassy area. He then ran to Urban Drive at Route 37 and jumped into a Dodge Durango. He was taken into custody at his home on Maple Street. Hines was processed at the village police station and released on an appearance ticket.

BRAKE LIGHT - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Dori A. St. Louis, 39, of Colgate Drive, Massena, for operation of a vehicle with inadequate brake lights at 5:16 p.m. Thursday following a traffic stop on Liberty Avenue near Stoughton.

UNREGISTERED TRAILER - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Willie Robertson, 58, of state Route 420, Massena, with operation of an unregistered trailer and operation of a trailer with a light defect at 11:55 a.m. Thursday following a traffic stop on state Route 37.
