CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Cassondra L. Northrup, 30, of Massena with three counts of possession of a controlled substance in a non-original container and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Troopers said Northrup was in possession of three Suboxone pills and two Diazepam pills. Suboxone is used to treat opiate addiction; and Dizepam is used to treat anxiety disorders, muscle spasms and alcohol withdrawal symptoms, according to online sources.

FAMILY COURT ACT - BRASHER - Massena-based state police charged a 14-year-old male from Massena with a violation of the Family Court Act following an investigation into a missing child complaint. The teenager was located at 695 Hopson Road in the town of Brasher.

PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS - POTSDAM - State police investigated several property damage accidents around the region on Sunday. Among those:

• Elizabeth M. Gallucci, 21, of East Norwich at 9:50 p.m. on County Route 34 at the Flat Rock Road in the town of Potsdam.

• Laramie P. McCaffrey, 45, of Brushton at 8:57 a.m. on the South Woods Road, near McCarthy Road, in the village of Brushton.
