AKWESASNE — Mohawk International Raceway returns for another action packed night of racing this evening as Fastenal presents a full racing program featuring our Modifieds, Sportsman, and Bandits as well as a TUSA Mod Lite Series race as several teams from across New York and Ontario take on the MIR Mod Lite regulars.

So far in 2014, the 358 Modified have only raced twice as we have battled Mother Nature for a good part of the season. Billy Dunn has had a dominant car, but is still seeking his first win at MIR in 2014. Danny O’Brien took the opening night win, and Carey Terrance battled Dunn to the finish last week to claim victory in race number two of 2014 for the Modifieds. Dylan Evoy and Corey Wheeler continues to set the pace in the Sportsman division but several others have narrowed the gap and are looking to breakthrough at any time. In three events in 2014, Evoy has hit victory lane on two occasions, while Wheeler held off a late race challenge from Evoy last week to win the Frenchie’s Ford “Go Further” Series opener. Dan Reif, Mathieu Robinson and Scott Waldrif have each made a trip to victory lane in the Mod Lite division early in 2014 and the Bandit division has seen Matt Zira make his way to Victory lane on two occasions, and Randy Whitting and Corey Castell have one win each so far.

General Admission for Friday night is just $12 for adults and $10 for Seniors. Children 12 years of and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Pit admission is $25 for DIRTcar Members and $30 for non-members. Pit Gates will open at 4:30 p.m., with main gates opening at 5 p.m. Racing gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
