BENCH WARRANT - MASSENA - St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies picked up Charles R. Murdie, 34, of 259 County Route 43, Massena, Wednesday and turned him over to Massena Village Police. Village police held a bench warrant from Massena Village Court alleging he had failed to appear as directed on second-degree harassment and obstruction of breathing charges pending in village court. He was arraigned on the warrant by Massena Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $500.

ENDANGERING THE WELFARE - MASSENA - Village police charged Crystal M. Johnston, 32, of 101 Andrews St., Apt. 1, Massena, with a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. She allegedly was involved in an argument and threw her cell phone across a room striking items on the wall. Police said two children, ages 14 and 13 months, were in the room when the incident took place.

PETIT LARCENY - MASSENA - Village police charged Rachel J. Lashomb, 44, of 37 Howard St., Massena, with petit larceny at 5:21 p.m. Wednesday after responding to a shoplifting complaint at the Massena Walmart. She allegedly walked past the store’s last point of sale without paying for $56.92 worth of merchandise, including makeup and pool items.

STOP LAMPS - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Jessica M. Hill, 27, of state Route 37B, Massena, for operation of a vehicle with inadequate stop lamps at 6:18 p.m. Wednesday following a traffic stop on North Main Street.
