Massena Minors drop District 37 playoff opener

MASSENA - The Massena Little League Minors dropped a 9-1 decision to South Jefferson Thursday in the first round of the District 37 tournament.

Ethan Firnstein pitched a strong three innings allowing 1 earned run and 3 unearned runs. Jacob Peets came on in relief for Massena and pitched two strong innings. Thomas Mcgregor led the way offensively for Massena with a double and Emery Deshaies contributed a single.

Massena returns to action at 5:45 p.m. Monday at Plattsburgh.
