UNLAWFUL IMPRISONMENT - POTSDAM - A Plattsburgh man faces a host of charges following an incident Friday night at Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s Rehab Unit.

Village police charged Lawrence J. Dame, 47, of Plattsburgh with harassment, attempted criminal mischief, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful imprisonment after responding to a report of an unruly patient at the hospital at 6:46 p.m. Friday.

Police said their investigation revealed Dame allegedly became enraged after a counselor confronted him about possessing marijuana at the facility.

Dame allegedly attempted to physically restrain the counselor to prevent the hospital employee from leaving the room, and he also reportedly attempted to damage property during the incident.

He was arraigned in Potsdam Village Court and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $10,000 cash.
