CANTON - The FC Freeze U16 boys team upped its mark in the Northern New York Youth Soccer League to 6-1 and stayed atop of the standings with a 4-1 win over the Upstate United SC Cosmos on Monday evening.
Parishville-Hopkington’s Lucas Snell accounted for the only scoring in the first half converting on a scramble in front of the net which started on a corner kick. The Watertown contingent deadlocked the game early in the second half before Ogdensburg’s Peyton Lalone rifled home a shot just 10 seconds after the Upstate United Equalizer to put FC Freeze ahead to stay from a long start-up pass from Parishville-Hopkington’s Wyatt Snell. Wyatt Snell then added a goal of his own from a Colton-Pierrepont Ethan Knight pass before Madrid-Waddington’s Tyler Robinson benefited from a Upstate United goalie clearing which bounded into Robinson’s legs and back into the open net. Lisbon’s Nick Spooner collected eight saves.
