STOP SIGN - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Betty White, 55, of Massena for a stop sign violation at 10:26 a.m. Monday following a traffic stop on Highland Park near Highland Avenue.

NO SEATBELT - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Wallace J, Mayette, 56, of Washington Street, Massena, for failure to wear a seatbelt at 5:55 p.m. Sunday following a traffic stop on Stoughton Avenue.

ENDANGERING WELFARE CHILD - MASSENA - Village police charged Katie L. Monroe, 24, of 8 Grove St., Massena, with endangering the welfare of a child after responding to a complaint that her child was on South Main Street without any supervision. Police said Monroe was on South Main Street visiting a friend when her child left the residence. Monroe reportedly acknowledged she wasn’t aware her 20-month-old child had left the residence.

AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION - MASSENA - Village police charged Carlos A. Rodriguez, 22, of 367 Cook Road, Hogansburg, with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operation of an unregistered motor vehicle at 2:35 p.m. Sunday after he was observed riding a dirt bike on Sycamore Street.

ASSAULT - MASSENA - Village police charged Robert J. Mackerer, 44, of 387 South Main St., Massena, with third-degree assault at 2:30 p.m. Sunday following an investigation into a reported altercation the previous night on South Main Street. Mackerer reportedly punched Lee Smith after Mr. Smith talked to Mackerer’s girlfriend, according to police. Mr. Smith was treated for his injuries at Massena Memorial Hospital and released.

PETIT LARCENY - MASSENA - Village police charged Patrick J. Barber, 25, of 183 Center St., Massena, with petit larceny at 11:28 a.m. Sunday following an investigation into a shoplifting complaint received June 6 from the Massena Walmart. He reportedly walked past the store’s last point of sale without paying for five 30-packs of beer. The beer was valued at $92.26.

DWI - MASSENA - Village police charged Kevin D. Bullock, 36, of 1695 County Route 38, Norfolk, with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop at 12:25 a.m. Saturday on Park Avenue. He was also ticketed for two counts of unsafe tires. Bullock reported had a blood alcohol content of 0.10 percent. A blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher is considered proof of intoxication in the state.

AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION - MASSENA - Village police charged Kenneth A. French, 39, of 34 Tamarack St., Massena, with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and ticketed him for operation of a vehicle with inadequate plate lamps and inadequate tail lamps at 10:49 p.m. Saturday on Chase Street.
