DISORDERLY CONDUCT - MASSENA - Village police charged Sam R. Portolese, 50, of 33 Elm St., Massena, and Tyler J. Smitty, 21, of 2503 Chateaugay St., Fort Covington, with disorderly coduct at 2:17 a.m. Sunday following an altercation outside the Hotel Nadeau, Church Street. Police said the two men were allegedly arguing over a female when Portolese punched Smiddy and then put him in a head lock and swung him into a vehicle, damaging the vehicle. The two men reportedly continued to fight until the altercation was broken up by police.

BENCH WARRANT - MASSENA - Village police picked up Melinda S. Branham, 27, of 3755 state Route 310, Norfolk, on a bench warrant for failure to appear in court as directed following a traffic stop at 8:45 p.m. Saturday on North Main Street. She was also ticketed for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. She was arraigned on the warrant by Massena Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson and released after posting $200 bail.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - MASSENA - Village police charged Douglas E. Larose, 33, of 7 Richards St., Massena, with a felony count of third-degree criminal mischief after responding to a disturbance complaint at 3:54 a.m. Sunday on Richards Street. Police allege Larose went to another residence on Richards Street, where his ex-wife was reportedly visiting a friend, and attempted to enter the residence. Police said Larose damaged a grill and a double pane window at the residence. He was arraigned by Massena Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson and released under the supervision of the probation department. The court also signed a temporary order of protection directing Larose to have no contact with the alleged victims.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT - MASSENA - Village police charged Trista M. Stevens, 30, of 33 Douglas Road, Massena, with disorderly conduct at 11:27 p.m. Saturday on Willow Street. Police said the charge stemmed from an initial complaint seeking the removal of an allegedly intoxicated female from a residence. The details that led to the disorderly conduct charge were not immediately available.

AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION - MASSENA - Village police charged Tammy L. Charleston, 46, of 633 B Heath Road, Potsdam, with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and ticketed her for operation of a vehicle with inadequate stop lamps at 9:11 p.m. p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on Center Street.
