Massena S&L, B&W Quick Stop net NNY Box Lacrosse wins


BRASHER FALLS - Massena Savings and Loan outscored Enbridge-St. Lawrence Gas 13-10 while B&W Quick Stop remained unbeaten by turning back Goodrich Refrigeration 25-24 in the NNY Box Lacrosse League High School Division matchups staged Monday night at the Tri-Town Arena.

The Elementary Division game saw Stacey Howlett, DDS, drop Dow Electric 16-10 while the Reds gained a 17-16 overtime decision over the Whites in the Adult Division game.

Player of the game awards presented in the Elementary and High School Division matchups are sponsored by Powerade.


Massena Savings and Loan 13, Enbridge-SLG 10: Ian Bressett netted three goals to earn player of the game honors in the winning effort. Pat LaGrow (1 assist) and Myles Bordeleau contributed two goals each.

Brody Simonds tallied two goals and four helpers as player of the game in the losing cause. Isaiah Lyon (1 assist) and Hunter Storrin broke through for two goals apiece.

B&W Quick Stop 25, Goodrich Refrigeration 24: Lucas Beeson generated nine goals and an assist to anchor the winning attack. Player of the game DJ Morgan and Kody Kocsis chipped in four goals apiece with Kocsis connecting for the game-winner with 20 seconds to play after Goodrich had erased as seven-goal deficit. Garrett Clark added a goal and assist toward the win.

For Goodrich, Matthew Burg fashioned eight goals and eight assist in being named player of the game. Carter Rose notched seven goals and three helpers while Nick Randall contributed three goals.

The trio of Trent Down (23 saves, 6 assists), Cash Feeley (15 saves, 4 assists) and Bordeleau (1 game, 3 saves) shared goaltending duties.


Stacey Howlett, DDS 16, Dow Electric 10: Ryan Charlebois netted four goals as player of the game in the winning effort. Ryan Rutley also scored four goals followed by Jayden Ashley with three and Mike Donnie with two while Bordeleau began his busy night by turning aside six shots backstopping the win.

Player of the game Quinn McGaheren scored twice in the losing cause. Saige Sauve chipped in a pair of goals and Kyle Rutley notched a singleton while Logan Premo worked the crease for six stops.


Reds 17, Whites 16 (OT): Cody Burns converted off an assist from Cody Kilcoyne for the game-winner in sudden victory overtime. Kilcoyne finished with four goals and three assists. Burns also tallied four goals followed by Martin Fregoe while Brian LaBier made 12 saves and handed on an assist backstopping the win.

For the Whites, Charlie Dullea fashioned four goals and an assist. Kyle Shampine had two goals and one helper and Brayden Waite logged a goal and two assists. Austin LaPage (5 saves) and Dennis Powell (7 saves) split goaltending duties.

Wednesday Games: Elementary Division - Dow Electric vs. Stacey Howlett, DDS, 5:30 p.m.; High School Division - B&W Quick Stop vs. Massena S&L 6:30 p.m., Goodrich vs. EnBridge 7:30 p.m.; Adult Division 8:30 p.m.
