Another action-packed night slated for Mohawk Raceway

AKWESASNE - Mohawk International Raceway will close out the month of July this evening with another action packed night of racing.

The Sportsman division will have several invaders on hand as MIR hosts the next round of the Seaway GM and Performance Sportsman Series. The 40 lap race will also count towards the Frenchie’s Ford “Go Further” Sportsman Series.

Lazore’s Construction will be the presenting sponsor of the night and all of our weekly divisions will be on hand with regular features for the Modifieds, Mod Lites and Bandits.

Friday night will be round four of the five-race Seaway Series. Mathieu Desjardins currently leads the way with a 40 point lead coming into MIR. Dany Gagne, Shane Pecore, Martin Pelletier and MIR regular Wyatt Mullin make up the top five positions so far, while another MIR regular, Mike Maresca is also in the top 10.

Defending Mohawk Raceway Sportsman champion Corey Wheeler is currently on a streak of four wins in a row at Mohawk Raceway and will be looking to continue that while many other MIR regular will be looking to defend their home turf against the traveling tour drivers. A very large field of Sportsman cars is expected to be on hand this evening.

General Admission for Friday night is just $14.00 for adults. Children 12 and under are FREE when accompanied by an adult. Pit admission is $30 for DIRTcar Members and $35 for non members. Please allow 10% exchange on Canadian currency. Pit Gates will open at 4:30 p.m., General Admission opens at 5 p.m., and racing gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
