Coleman, Hartle top All-State baseball


Second-team selections Will Coleman of Potsdam and Justin Hartle of Harrisville highlight the 21-man north country contingent chosen for the New York State Sportswriters’ Association all-state baseball team.

Coleman, a senior pitcher, won his spot in Class B, while Hartle, a senior infielder, make it in Class D.

Potsdam senior infielder Ben Miller made the third team in Class B. And the South Lewis duo of senior catcher Lucas Kelly and senior pitcher Jason Martin were chosen for the third team in Class C.

Among the fourth-team picks were Massena senior catcher Connor Paquin in Class A, Brushton-Moira senior pitcher Adam Martin in Class C and Sackets Harbor junior pitcher/infielder Ryan Allen and Heuvelton sophomore infielder Mike Martin in Class D.

Here are the other selections:

Class A: 5th team, Collin Jorden, Watertown, Sr., infield. 6th team, Killian LaDue, Watertown, Sr., outfield, Isaac Ward, Massena, Jr., infield/outfield.

Class B: 6th team, Seth Pinkerton, OFA, Jr., infield/outfield. 7th team, Logan LaFlamme, South Jefferson, Sr., utility; Jon Taylor, OFA, Sr., DH.

Class C: 5th team, Christian Widrick, Beaver River, junior, pitcher; Austin Bach, Thousand Islands, Sr., in field; Zeb Brown, Norwood-Norfolk, Jr., utility. 6th team, Adam Burnett, Brushton-Moira, Sr., infield. 7th team, Brett Neddo, Beaver River, So., infield; Jake VanBeber, South Lewis, Sr., DH.
