Martin, Pinkerton named to All-State Baseball

Second-team selections Will Coleman of Potsdam and Justin Hartle of Harrisville highlight the Section 10 contingent chosen for the New York State Sportswriters’ Association all-state baseball team.

Coleman, a senior pitcher, won his spot in Class B, while Hartle, a senior infielder, make it in Class D.

Potsdam senior outfielder Ben Miller made the third team in Class B.

Heuvelton’s sophomore pitcher-infielder Mike Martin earned a spot on the fourth Class D team and OFA’s junior pitcher-infielder Seth Pinkerton landed a spot on the sixth Class B team.

Pinkerton and Martin are teammates on the Ogdensburg Maples 18Under Baseball team. Both played leadership roles as OFA won the Section 10 Class B Championship and Heuvelton used a Class D title as the portal for a trip top the New York State Final Four.

Another OFA team leader, catcher Jon Tayler, was named to the seventh Class B team as a utility player.

Among the fourth-team picks were Massena senior catcher Connor Paquin in Class A, Brushton-Moira senior pitcher Adam Martin in Class C and Heuvelton sophomore infielder Mike Martin in Class D.

Class A: 5th team Isaac Ward, Massena, Jr., infield/outfield.

Class C: 5th team, Zeb Brown, Norwood-Norfolk, Jr., utility. 6th team, Adam Burnett, Brushton-Moira, Sr., infield.
