GOUVERNEUR — State police on Tuesday charged two Natural Bridge residents with drug possession after they allegedly were found in possession of heroin and needles in the village.

Troopers charged Bridget L. Prashaw, 29, with possession of a hypodermic instrument and three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. They also charged Gerald A. Woodard III, 18, with two counts of possession of a hypodermic instrument and four counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Troopers said that about 2:50 p.m. on Williams Street, Mrs. Prashaw and Mr. Woodard, both passengers in a 2009 Subaru, were found in possession of hypodermic needles, four white packets containing heroin and three prescription narcotics, alprazolam, carisoprodol and Suboxone.

They were issued appearance tickets for Town Court.

Ms. Prashaw was turned over to troopers in Watertown on one arrest warrant and two bench warrants in Jefferson County.

State police were assisted by the Gouverneur Police Department.
