MASSENA - A substation issue in the Massena area early Tuesday afternoon resulted in a power outage to more than 2,500 National Grid customers.

The incident occurred at the Dennison substation in Massena, according to National Grid officials.

“The customer count was about 2,700 customers, and it was due to a third party that had caused damage to one of the transmission lines,” National Grid spokeswoman Virginia J. Limmiatis said.

The outage happened at 12:20 p.m. and power was fully restored by 1:30 p.m.
