RAYMONDVILLE – Mr. Stanley G. White, 78, of 8576 State Highway 56, unexpectedly passed away Monday morning, August 4, 2014 at his home.
Stanley was born October 7, 1935 in Massena, the son of the late Lewis and Mildred LaBarge White and attended school in Massena. Stanley proudly served his country in the US Army as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne. On April 30, 1955, he married Marion E. Felix at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Stanley was a millwright at General Motors for many years retiring in 1988. He was member of the Norfolk American Legion and the Gerald R. Roy AMVETS Post #4. Stanley was also a longtime member of the Raripaco Hunting Club, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Stanley also raced stock cars for many years and loved spending time with his family and many friends. Stanley will be fondly remembered for his true zest for life and great sense of humor and quick-wittiness.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marion; his children, Joanne and Brian Dumers of Raymondville; Randy White of Raymondville; Timothy White of Norfolk; Michael and Tammy White of Massena; Donald White of Massena; two foster daughters, Penny Kiah-Smith of Massena; and Linda Gagne-Berry of North Carolina.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joey and Jennifer Dumers of Raymondville; Dennis and Erin Dumers of Brasher Falls; Scott White and Margaret Bartell of Norfolk; Terri Lyn and Bashir Ibrahim of Georgia; Chris White of Massena; Ryan White of Raymondville; Brody White of Morristown; Ellie Jo Ruby of Williamsburg, VA; Nathan White of Massena; Adam and Virginia White of Norwood; Jessica White of Massena; and Cody White of Massena; Chantelle White of Indiana; and 9 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a grandson, Austin White and his sister, Glendora Morin.
Friends may call Thursday 12-3 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM with Lay Pastor Martha Helmer, officiating. Burial with military honors will be held in Raymondville Cemetery will follow the services.
