B&W Quick Stop goes 7-1-1 through NNY Box Lacrosse regular season


BRASHER FALLS - B&W Quick Stop clinched the top seed for the upcoming playoffs with a 19-12 win over Enbridge-St. Lawrence Gas while Massena Savings and Loan claimed the second spot by settling for a 14-14 tie with Goodrich Refrigeration in the Northern New York Box Lacrosse League High School Division games played at the Tri-Town Arena on Wednesday.

The Elementary Division game also ended in a draw as Stacey Howlett, DDS, and Dow Electric finished deadlocked at 16-16 while the Whites outscored the Reds 11-8 in the Adult Division contest.

The High School Division playoffs will open on Monday with B&W Quick Stop (7-1-1) taking on Goodrich (1-6-2) at 6:30 p.m. and Massena S&L (4-3-2) and Enbridge-SLG (3-5-1) squaring off at 7:30 p.m.

Nightly player of the game awards in the Elementary and High School Division games are sponsored by Powerade.


B&W Quick Stop 19, Enbridge-SLG 12: Player of the game Drew Rose generated five goals and an assist in the winning effort. Lucas Beeson produced another four goals while Jake Sutton tallied two goals an an assist.

Dan Wings fashioned two goals and an assist as player of the game for Enbridge-SLG. Brody Simonds netted four goals and helped set up another while Hunter Storrin logged two goals and one assist.

Massena S&L 14, Goodrich 14: Seth Bain finished with two goals and two assists as player of the game for Massena S&L. Ian Bresett recorded three goals and one helper while Owen Kowalchuk also struck for two goals and two assists.

For Goodrich Refrigeration, player of the game Sean Hornung had three goals and an assist while Skyler Burns (1 assist) and Ethan Simonds contributed two goals apiece.

Sharing crease duties over the course of the two High School Division games were Parker Honrung (26 saves, 1 assist) and Trent Dow (21 saves, 5 assists0.


Stacey Howlett, DDS, 16, Dow Electric 16: Dylan Lauzon netted a goal to earn player of the game status for Stacey Howlett, DDS. Jimmy Sullivan scored four goals while Jayden Ashley (2 assists) and Tommy Storrin each netted a pair.

Gabe Hornung had a solo goal as player of the game for Dow Electric. Parker Berkman struck for six goals and Gage Charleson connected for another two.


Whites 11, Reds 8: Martin Fregoe led the winning attack with four goals followed by Cody Burns with three while Brian LaBier made 10 saves backstopping the win.

Kevin Logan tallied three goals and an assist in the losing cause. Marshall Burninghausen and Kyle Montroy chipped in two goals apiece while Cameron Sharlow worked the crease for nine stop.

Monday’s Games: Elementary Division - Stacey Howlett, DDS, vs. Dow Electric 5:30 p.m.; High School Division (playoffs) B&W Quick Stop vs. Goodrich 6:30, Massena S&L vs. Enbridge-SLB 7:30 p.m.; Adult Division 8:30 p.m.
