Mass of Christian Burial for Olga Hassler, 89 of Potsdam, will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary’s Church in Potsdam, with Rev. Robert Downs, Celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery. Olga died on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Massena Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since August 1.

Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Home, 10 Lawrence Ave; Potsdam on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Contributions in his memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley, 6805 US Hwy 11; Potsdam, New York 13676.

Olga is survived by a son, Ferdie Hassler of Henderson, NV and a daughter, Trudy White and husband Robert of Potsdam; by two sisters, Josephine Schober and Franceska Bronicki, both of Potsdam, and four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and by six great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by brothers, Karl, Ladi and Rudy Kropelnicki.

Olga was born, May 1, 1925 in Czernowitz, Romania, the daughter of the late Franz and Helena (Tyron) Kropelnicki. On October 18, 1942 in Linz, Austria, Olga married Josef Hassler, they moved to the United States in 1952. Josef predeceased her February 11, 2007. Olga worked as a meat cutter retiring from Pahler Packing.

Olga enjoyed traveling, visiting with friends and family, playing bingo and cards and cooking and baking.
