MASSENA – Mrs. Helen E. Jock, 87, of North Racquette River Road, peacefully passed away Wednesday morning, August 13, 2014 at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.

Helen was born August 15, 1926 in Massena, the daughter of the late Herbert W. and Bertha E. Kirkey Rafter. On September 5, 1947, she married Kenneth P. Jock at the Brasher Falls United Methodist Church. Kenneth predeceased her on March 5, 1985.

Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who will be fondly remembered for her infectious smile. She enjoyed reading, baking, cooking, playing cards, and visiting many local restaurants and diners. Helen also enjoyed traveling, having taken trips with Flack Tours to New York City and Nashville. But perhaps her greatest enjoyment, was the precious time she spent with her family and friends.

She is survived her son and daughter-in-law, James H. and Elizabeth Jock of Brasher Falls; her grandchildren, Beth and Jason McDermott, Kenneth and Candy Jock and Christine Kamm; her great grandchildren, Sofie and Liam and was excitingly awaiting the birth of her third great grandchild in January. Helen is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and her dear friend Grace Robideau of Moira.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Helen was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Kamm on March 18, 2004 and her sister, Marion Partlow on July 22, 2004.

Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 AM with Rev. Heather Stierheim, officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lawrence.

Memorial contribution may be made in her memory to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley or Massena Meals on Wheels.
