NORFOLK - Seven area fire departments were dispatched to fight a fire Thursday night at 1364 County Route 38, Norfolk, but fire officials said the structure received extensive damage.

Departments from Norfolk, Madrid, Massena, West Stockholm, Norwood, Louisville and Brasher were toned out at 8:18 p.m. and reported back in service at 12:14 a.m. Friday. Norfolk Rescue was also dispatched, and fire departments from Waddington and West Potsdam were placed on standby.

The cause of the fire was ruled accidental. No occupants were listed as being inside the property, which is owned by Allen L. Bush.
